Equine-Assisted Therapeutic Riding

Our classes harness the unique bond between humans and horses to promote growth, development, and healing for individuals of all ages and abilities. These sessions use horseback riding and ground-based interactions as therapeutic tools to support physical, emotional, and social well-being.

In each class, certified instructors work closely with participants to create tailored activities and riding experiences that align with their needs and goals. Sessions typically combine:

  • Mounted Activities: Riding exercises and games designed to improve coordination, balance, and strength.
  • Ground-Based Activities: Grooming, leading, and interacting with the horse to build confidence and connection.
  • Self Efficacy: we are dedicated to fostering self-efficacy—helping individuals build confidence in their ability to achieve goals and overcome challenges.

Through our equine-assisted programs, participants engage in meaningful interactions with horses that promote resilience, adaptability, and personal growth. Horses provide a unique, non-judgmental environment where individuals can develop new skills, celebrate successes, and turn obstacles into opportunities for learning. By nurturing self-efficacy, we empower participants to approach life’s challenges with courage, determination, and a renewed belief in their own capabilities.

Benefits:

  • Physical Growth: Horseback riding and ground classes enhances balance, muscle strength, coordination, and range of motion.
  • Emotional & Mental Well-Being: Interacting with horses reduces stress, anxiety, and depression while boosting self-confidence, self-esteem, and emotional regulation.
  • Social Development: Participants develop communication skills, build relationships with peers and instructors, and experience a sense of belonging and community.

We are proud to partner with the NorthBay Regional Center, which provides disability services and support, ensuring that our programs are accessible to individuals with diverse needs.
