Military Personnel Program at SpiritHorse
One of the key components of our Programs is the focus on personal development through horsemanship. Participants learn essential skills such as communication, leadership, and teamwork while working with horses. These activities not only enhance their self-esteem but also foster a sense of responsibility and purpose. For instance, the equine-assisted learning process often involves setting goals, overcoming challenges, and celebrating achievements, which can translate into greater confidence in other areas of life. We emphasize these aspects by offering workshops that integrate goal-setting and life skills training with horse care and riding.
Moreover, these programs often create a supportive community for veterans, reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness. By connecting with fellow veterans who share similar experiences, participants can form lasting friendships and support networks. Events such as group rides, social gatherings, and workshops encourage camaraderie and create a safe space for veterans to express their feelings and challenges. Programs exemplify this communal approach, offering both individual and group sessions that foster connections and provide a holistic approach to recovery. Overall, our program not only facilitates healing through interaction with horses but also empower veterans to reclaim their lives and build meaningful relationships. We meet on Tuesdays from 3pm – 5pm weekly.
